A TEXAS TRILOGY PLAY CAST - SHOW BILL SIGNED CO-SIGNED BY: DIANE LADD, BAXTER HARRIS, AVRIL GENTLES, PATRICK HINES, WALTER FLANAGAN, THOMAS TONER, GRAHAM BECKEL, EVERETT McGILL, JAMES STALEY - HFSID 301530

A TEXAS TRILOGY PLAY CAST
Star Diane Ladd and 8 other actors sign the cast page of this Playbill.
Show Bill signed: "God Bless/Diane Ladd", "Baxter Harris", "Avril Gentles", "Patrick Hines", "Walter/Flanagan", "Thomas Toner", "Graham/Beckel", "Everett McGill", "James Staley", 42 pages, 5½x9. Playbill for production of A Texas Trilogy, Part I: Lu Ann Hampton Laverty Oberlander at New York's Broadhurst Theatre (September - October, 1976). Versatile actress DIANE LADD (b. 1932) played Flo, the tough waitress who helps out a recently widowed Ellen Burstyn in Martin Scorsese's Alice Doesn't Live Here Any More, securing nominations for an Oscar, a Golden Globe and a British Academy Award. Ladd is the mother of leading lady Laura Dern. They have appeared in several films together, notably 1991's Rambling Rose and David Lynch's Wild at Heart (1990) -- the former film earned mother and daughter a place in Oscar history when they became the first such duo to be nominated for the same film (Ladd for Best Supporting Actress and Dern for Best Actress). Ladd received a Drama Desk Award nomination A Texas Trilogy. AVRIL GENTLES (1919-2001) won Chicago's Joseph Jefferson Award for a revival of Our Town. Her Broadway credits extend from Present Laughter (1958) to The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940 (1987). BAXTER HARRIS (b. 1940) has appeared in 5 Broadway plays, including understudy to Frank Langella as Count Dracula. His most recent starring role was in the Off-Broadway Count the Ways (1993). Like so many Broadway actors, he included an appearance on Law & Order (1998) among his TV credits. GRAHAM BECKEL (b. 1949) portrayed Skip Hampton in two parts of the Texas Trilogy. Although these were his only Broadway credits, he has a long list of film and TV appearances dating back to 1975. His much longer list of scree appearances extend from the 1970s (The Paper Chase, Kojak) to the 2010s (CSI: NY, Prime Suspect). PATRICK HINES (1930-1985) had an apparent fondness for Shakespearean and classical plays, with more than half of his 14 Broadway credits, beginning with Measure for Measure (1958), falling in that category. His last appearance was in Amadeus (1980-1983). WALTER FLANAGAN appeared in 8 Broadway plays, from Once for the Asking (1963) to The Iceman Cometh (1985). THOMAS TONER, who appeared in two parts of the Texas Trilogy, starring in Part II, had three decades of Broadway credits, extending from Edwin Booth (1958) to Ragtime (1988). JAMES STALEY, who made his Broadway debut in Promenade, All! (1972), appeared in Of Mice and Men (1974). EVERETT McGILL compiled eleven Broadway credits in less than a decade, extending from Enemies (1972) to Whose Life Is It Anyway? (1980). Lightly toned. Bottom left corner lightly creased. Otherwise, fine condition.
