B/w, 8x10 overall, image 4¼-inch diameter (one surface). Photograph of a medal struck for the 100th anniversary of the Nobel Prizes. Aaron Ciechanover of the Technion (Israel Institute of Technology) won the 2004 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for the discovery of ubiquitin-mediated protein degradation. Since cancer is caused by the uncontrolled proliferation of cells, the research of Ciechanover and his co-recipients (Avram Hershko and Irwin Rose) is of great importance in understanding and treating the disease. Minor surface creases (not evident head on). Light show through of writing on verso at upper background of photograph. Fine condition.
