ALEXANDER FLEMING: PENICILLIN. TLS: "Alexander Fleming", 1p, 8x10. London, 1952 May 26. On stationery of The Wright-Fleming Institute of Microbiology, St. Mary's Hospital Medical School. To Mrs. Eugenia Moore, Leonia, N.J. In part: "Thank you very much for your letter enclosing the extract from the New York Times Book Review. I had not seen the book by Ritchie Calder which is reviewed but some day I will get hold of one...." Author and philanthropist Lord Ritchie Calder was also science editor of the "London News Chronicle". Alexander Fleming was awarded the 1945 Nobel Prize in Medicine for his "discovery of penicillin and its curative effect in various infectious diseases." Lightly creased. Folds, vertical fold touches "F" in Fleming. Stray 1-inch ink mark at blank left.
