The Cleveland Indians right-hander signed this 5x3 index card in black ink
Signature: "Bill Abernathie" in black ink, 5x3 card. With a 1¼x1¾ printed black and white photograph of him affixed at bottom right (2 surfaces). Bill Abernathie (1929-2006) was a right-handed pitcher who pitched in only one game in the major leagues. In 1952, he took the mound for the Cleveland Indians and did some mop-up work, allowing 3 runs but still getting the save. His minor league career spanned a decade, from 1948-1958, only missing one year. In 1954, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, coming back to baseball in time for the 1956 season. With white out on front (slightly affecting signature). Otherwise, fine condition.
