Signed baseball card, shown in Cubs uniform
Sports Card signed: "Bobby Adams". Color, 2½x3½. Topps card #249 for 1959. Signed in blue ink above his facsimile signature. Major League batting record through 1958 printed on verso. Bobby Adams (1921-1997) was a Major League infielder for 14 seasons, spending most of that time with the Cincinnati Reds (1946-1955) and Chicago Cubs (1957-1959), with two intervening years in the American League with the White Sox and Orioles. A fine fielder, Adams led NL third sackers in assists twice, and was consistently among the league leaders in range factor (a stat not publicized in his playing days but now recognized as very important). Though known more for his glove than his bat, Adams led the NL in singles in 1952. After his playing days, Adams coached for the Cubs and was President of their Pacific Coast League affiliate, the Tacoma Cubs. Lightly toned with lightly creased corners. Otherwise fine condition.
