BRIGADIER GENERAL PERICO A. PEREZ - AUTOGRAPH LETTER SIGNED 06/28/1898 - HFSID 218067

PERICO A PEREZ
The Brigadier General Perico A Perez writes a relevant letter to Lieutenant Colonel Francisco Perez to inform him about some important war details
Autograph Letter Signed: "P.A. Perez" in iron gall ink. 8¼x6¼. Two pages. Fully Translated in English: "Cacahual June 28, 1898. Sir Lieutenant Colonel Francisco Perez. Today I have the pleasure to send you some mules to transport the blood to these General Barracks but not before distributing among the forces that have started combating with the enemy these days shooting 1500 Remington bullets and 1500 Sniffer ones. On the same time I wish you to send me the individuals that are in those headquarters and who belong to the Flying Column. It is almost certain that some rations will be sent next Thursday for the provision of our troops, and 200 will be for the guerrillas of 'Corralillo', 'Limones' and 'La Ynagua". For your consideration, Fatherland and Liberty. General P.A. Perez". Perico A Perez was a Brigadier General who served in the Cuban Army in the Cuban War of Independence (1895-1898); he is best known for his successful leadership of a 1,000-man cavalry who defeated Spanish Colonel Cosch on April 16 and April 18 at Sabana de Jaibo. Signer merits for further research. Sealed. Toned and soiled. Lightly wrinkled. Edges slightly frayed. Multiple mailing folds. Otherwise, fine condition.
