DOUGLAS DILLON. Signature: "With best wishes/Douglas Dillon", 5x3 card. Clarence Douglas Dillon (1909-2003), who had been born in Geneva, was the 57th Secretary of the Treasury under Presidents Kennedy and Johnson (January 1961-April 1965). Dillon, a veteran of WWII, had previously served as U.S. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipontentiary to France (1953-1957). Dillon also served on the Executive Committee of the National Security Council during the Cuban Missile Crisis, and, as a private citizen, he was President of the New York Metropolitan Museum and a Trustee of the Rockefeller Foundation (1960-1961). Dillon was awarded the Medal of Freedom in 1989. Slightly creased at upper and lower blank margins. Fine condition.
