Grandson of John Quincy Adams.
Autograph Sentiment Signed: "Very respectfully/C.F. Adams", 1p, 4¾x3¼. Charles Francis Adams, Jr. (1835-1915) served as President of the Union Pacific Railroad from 1884-1890. Also an author and historian, he wrote Life of Charles Francis Adams, a biography of his father, in 1900. Lightly creased. Horizontal fold touches the ascenders of the "C", "F" and "A". Slightly soiled at lower blank margin, irregular left edge. Otherwise, fine condition.
