DONALD C. ALEXANDER. TLS: "Don" as Commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service. On his official letterhead. Washington, D.C., 1976 January 16. To W. Ernst Minor, Cincinnati, Ohio. In full: "Thanks very much for your note of January 14 and for sending me the Dayton Daily News editorial of January 12. I had neither seen this nor hear about it, and I certainly enjoyed reading it. So did Margaret. In view of all the unfavorable press, it's great to see that someone thinks I'm doing something right!" Alexander was IRS Commissioner under Presidents Nixon and Ford (1973-1977). He helped draft post-Watergate reforms to more strictly limit access to personal tax information. Small crease at top. Two folds in letter not affecting legibility. Fine condition.
