Extremely rare b/w headshot of country singer/songwriter Eddie Rabbitt, signed "Thanks". Rabbitt released 15 No. 1 country singles during his career.
Photograph signed "Thanks/Eddie/Rabbitt". Black ink notations on verso in unknown hand. B/w, 7¾x10 overall, 7¼x9¼ image, one surface. An innovative crossover country singer-songwriter, Rabbitt (1941-1998), born Edward Thomas Rabbitt, released numerous Top 10 country albums in the 1970s and 1980s, including the country chart-topping Horizon (1980) and Step by Step (1981). Born in Brooklyn, Rabbitt moved to Nashville in 1968 and paid the bills with a string of odd jobs and by writing for other singers. His songwriting credits include Elvis Presley's Kentucky Rain and Ronnie Milsap's Pure Love. He began recording in 1975 and released his first crossover single, the No. 1 country hit Every Which Way But Loose, in 1979. Rabbitt was a constant presence in the country Top 10 during his heyday, with crossover hits in the 1970s and early 1980s and more traditional songs later in his career, and cut 15 No. 1 country singles: Drinkin' My Baby (Off My Mind) (1976), I Just Want To Love You (1978), You Don't Love Me Anymore (1978), Every Which Way But Loose, Drivin' My Life Away (1980), Gone Too Far (1980), I Love A Rainy Night (1981), Step By Step (1981), Someone Could Lose A Heart Tonight (1982), You and I (1982), You Can't Run From Love (1983), The Best Year Of My Life (1984), I Wanna Dance With You (1988), The Wanderer (1988) and On Second Thought (1989). Lightly cracked and creased, otherwise in fine condition.
