The Nobel Prize-winning biochemist signed this typed letter to a reverend located in New York, New York
Typed Letter Signed: "E.A. Doisy", 1p, 8½x11. St. Louis, Missouri. Dated March 9, 1945. On letterhead of Saint Louis University School of Medicine to Reverend Cornelius Greenway, Brooklyn, New York. In full: "In accordance with your request, I have inscribed the photograph [not present] and am returning it to you under separate cover". Edward A. Doisy (1893-1986), received the Nobel Prize in Chemistry (1943) for discovering Vitamin K and its chemical structure. He shared the award with Henrik Dam. He held two different teaching positions during his career, including posts at St. Louis University and Washington University in St. Louis.  The St. Louis University biochemistry department is named after him. Cornelius Greenway was a noted collector of signed photographs. Creases and folds, not touching signature. Ragged right edge. Erased pencil notes (unknown hand) at lower blank area. Otherwise, fine condition.
