Photo of the Pulitzer Prize-winning war photographer.
Photograph signed: "Eddie Adams". B/w, 8x10. Ink note (unknown hand) at lower margin of verso: "Eddie Adams - Photographer - Pulitzer Prize in Phot. 1969". Photojournalist Eddie Adams (1923-2004), who had been a combat photographer in Korea and covered 13 wars, won the 1969 Pulitzer Prize for his 1968 black and white photograph of South Vietnamese Nguyen Ngoc Loan firing a bullet into the head of a Vietcong prisoner. (Adams later said he regretted the political consequences of the photo, which figured in the 1968 Presidential campaign.) Over his 45-year career, Adams, who worked for Philadelphia's "The Evening Bulletin" (1958-1962) and "Time" magazine as well as for the Associated Press, won over 500 photojournalism awards. Minor surface creases and scratches (most not evident head on). Fine condition.
