He pens a letter to Mr. MacDuffie in regards to newspaper clippings he sent
Autograph Letter Signed: "Francis Biddle", 1½p, 6x7. Washington, D.C., May 13 (no year). To Mr. MacDuffie. In full: "Thank you for sending me the clippings, which I read with interest. I have seen no announcement of our recommendations and assume they are getting more sponsors. It was a pleasure to me to have been associated with you in the work, and you [are] certainly entitled greatly to it." Biddle was FDR's Solicitor General (1940-1941) and Attorney General (1941-1945). From 1945-1946, he was a U.S. judge at the trial of war criminals at Nuremberg. Slightly creased. Folds, vertical fold the "a" in Frances. Pinhead-size stains at lower blank area of first page. Fine condition.
