Program for the Associated Actors and Artists of America's Gambol of Stars in Los Angeles, California on March 14, 1940 at the Cocoanut Grove Ambassador Hotel. The Associated Actors and Artists of America is the federation of trade unions for performing artists in the U.S. This exquisite part of Hollywood's history is signed on the title page by 28 performing artists and entertainers. The program contains photographs of the presidents of the associations that made up the Associated Actors and Artists of America; the Screen Actors Guild (Ralph Morgan), the Actors Equity Association (Bert Lytell), the American Federation of Radio Artists (Eddie Cantor) and the American Guild of Musical Artists (Lawrence Tibbett). It also contains pages with greetings from advertisers and sponsors of the event like the Motion Picture Relief Fund, the Artists Managers Guild, Phillip Morris, Charles Chaplin Studios, Coca Cola, Walt Disney and the Mary Pickford Company. Cover is lightly toned and creased at edges. Otherwise, fine condition.
