The senior British Army General signs a label attached to a 5x6½ photograph. A rare signature!
Signature: "Cecil Blacker", in blue ink, 3¼x1¼ label attached to 5x6½ photograph (2 surfaces). Unknown hand below signature pens: "General Sir Cecil Blacker/GC8 OBE MC". Sir Cecil Blacker (1916-2002) served as Britain's General Officer Commanding the 3rd Division from 1964 to 1966. Next he was the GOC-in-C Northern Command (1969-1970), Vice Chief of the Imperial General Staff (1970-1973) and Adjutant General (1973-1976). He was also a gold medalist show jumper and headed the British Showjumping Association and the British Equestrian Federation. 3¼x1¼ label attached to 5x6½ photograph (2 surfaces). Small tear at lower edge. Lightly bowed. Corners creased. Ink marks on photo. Ink and pencil notes (unknown hand) on verso. Otherwise, fine condition.
