GEOFFREY AGNEW
Signature of the prominent British art dealer on his business letterhead.
Signature: "Geoffrey Agnew/1970", 4x2½, irregularly cut. On sheet imprinted with his London business address. Accompanied by two additional clipped portions of Agnew's letterhead. Geoffrey William Gerald Agnew (1908-1986) was best known as chairman and managing director of Thomas Agnew & Sons, Ltd., a prestigious Bond Street art firm. Knighted in 1973, he gave 10,000 pounds to the National Art Collection Fund to mark its 70th birthday in 1975. Ink slightly smudged at the lower portion of the "ff". Slightly creased. Minor glue stains on verso (no show through). Fine condition.
