Hall of Fame enshrinement photo, shown in Bears uniform
Photograph signed: "Best of luck/George Connor/Chicago Bears". B/w, 8x10. Pro Football Hall of Fame photo captioned in lower margin. George Connor (1925-2003) was an All-American as a Holy Cross freshman in 1943. Reassigned by the US Navy to a program at Notre Dame, he was twice an All-American for that university after completing his navy program. With the NFL's Chicago Bears (1948-1955), Connor played both tackle on offense and linebacker on defense (redefining what coaches looked for in a linebacker). Sports writer Grantland Rice called Connor "the closest thing to a Greek God since Apollo," but a knee injury shortened his career. He entered the Hall of Fame in 1975. Fine condition.
