Nobel Prize-winner in Economics (1990), Harry M. Markowitz signed First Day Cover honoring American schools
First Day Cover signed: "Harry Markowitz", 6½x3½. FDC honoring American Schools Laying Future Foundations 30-cent Americana Series-1979, 30-cent stamp affixed, postmarked Devils Lake, North Dakota, August 27, 1979, FIRST DAY OF ISSUE. Markowitz, born in Chicago (1927) and affiliated with the City University of New York, shared the 1990 Nobel Prize in Economics with Merton Miller and William Sharpe "for their pioneering work in the theory of financial economics." Since the 1950s he has been developing sophisticated simulations of economic activity, for which he developed a programming language Simscript. Fine condition.
