NEIL ARMSTRONG - DOCUMENT SIGNED 04/15/1974

NEIL ARMSTRONG - DOCUMENT SIGNED 04/15/1974:

This remarkable document, from 1974, is a piece of Neil Armstrong's career after he retired from NASA in 1971. It's a class list from the University of Cincinnati, where he was a professor of aeronautical engineering for eight years. An illuminating piece from Armstrong's post-NASA career. Official documents signed by Armstrong are extremely scarce!

Document signed "Neil Armstrong" as Professor in blue ink. Blue ink notations in unknown hand. 1 page, 7½x10¾, with two binder holes at top edge and perforated top, left and right edges. April 15, 1974. Class list for a 3-credit Aircraft Flight Test II class at the University of Cincinnati. It lists 12 students, one of whom was auditing the class and another who was taking it on a pass-fail basis. Armstrong resigned from NASA in 1971 to become a professor of aeronautical engineering at the University of Cincinnati (1971-1978). He came to the university with only a master's degree in aerospace engineering from the University of Southern California, which he earned in 1970, and a bachelor's degree in aeronautical engineering from Purdue University. But we think the two-time astronaut had some practical experience that made up for his lack of academic chops. On July 20, 1969, Armstrong became the first man to walk on the Moon's surface. PRESIDENT WILLIAM J.

PRESIDENT WILLIAM J. "BILL" CLINTON - AUTOGRAPH LETTER SIGNED 07/29/1993:

This rare and significant letter touches on two of the many scandals of the 42nd U.S. President administration. He handwrote, signed and dated this one-sentence letter in 1993 to Kathleen Willey, who accused him of sexual assault five years later. The letter itself mentions "Vince" - probably Vince Foster, Jr., a colleague of the First Lady. Foster had reportedly committed suicide less than two weeks before this letter was signed

Autograph Letter Signed: "Bill". One page. 6½x8½. Written on official White House stationery letterhead. Place: Washington, D. C., Date: July 29, 1993. Addressed to: "Dear Kathleen", his friend (and later accuser), Kathleen Willey. In full: "Thanks for your note about Vince and for your friendship. Best". BILL CLINTON, born William Jefferson Blythe III in Hope, Arkansas in 1946, was Governor of Arkansas (1979-1981, 1983-1992) and the first Democrat reelected President since FDR. The only elected U.S. President to be impeached (Andrew Johnson was impeached, but he had not been elected to the office), on February 12, 1999, President Clinton was acquitted on both articles of impeachment brought against him: charges of perjury and obstruction of justice. SAMUEL F. B. MORSE - AUTOGRAPH LETTER SIGNED 07/23/1849

SAMUEL F. B. MORSE - AUTOGRAPH LETTER SIGNED 07/23/1849:

The artist and inventor signs this letter recommending that Congress purchase letters of General Henry Knox owned by a lady and wishing the courts would effectively put an end to the pirating of his telegraph invention.

ALS: "Saml. F.B. Morse", 2p, 7¾x10. Po'keepsie, N.Y., 1849 July 23. To C.S. Daveis, Esq., Portland, Me. Daveis (1788-1865) was a prominent Maine attorney. In full: "Yours of the 17th inst I received on Saturday evening & this morning I called on Mrs Beekman and read her your letter. She feels that she has (as she undoubtedly has) a valuable deposit of papers, which ought to belong to the State or the United States Government. She is well disposed towards accommodating you with the sight and use of the letters of Gen. Knox. She says that the papers are contained in several boxes, and the search will be attended with some labor but that she will select out those of Gen. Knox and lay them by themselves. That she should be desirous of reaping pecuniary benefit from papers possessing so much value to the state, is both natural and proper, and she felt gratefully that part of your letter which promised her you did.
