Signed contract to play for the Daytona Beach Explorers in the Senior Professional Baseball Association
Contract Multi-Signed: "Eric Peterson" twice on page 9, and initialed "EP." on pages 1 through 8. 9 pages, 8½x11. Bradenton, Florida, 1990 November 28. Contract between the Daytona Beach Explorers of the Senior Professional Baseball Association, and player Peterson for the 1990-1991 season. Also signed by a club representative on November 28, 1990. The Senior Professional Baseball Association, with Curt Flood as commissioner, was a winter league based in Florida. The minimum age was 35 (32 for catchers); its oldest layer (Ed Rakow) was 44. The SPBA played a full 72-game schedule in 1989 but folded in the middle of its second season. American baseball coach Rick Peterson was born on October 30, 1954 in New Brunswick, New Jersey. After spending several years playing A and AA ball, he started coaching in the Carolina League. In 1984 Peterson became bullpen coach for the Pittsburgh Pirates and in 1986 he joined the Cleveland Indians organization's minor league coaching staff. He later joined the Chicago White Sox, Toronto Blue Jays and Oakland Athletics minor league coaching staffs before becoming the New York Mets pitching coach (2003-2008). In 2009, Peterson became pitching coach for the Milwaukee Brewers. Toned at edges. Multiple staple holes at top left. Lightly worn at edges. Lightly creased. Otherwise, fine condition.
