BILL CLINTON, AL GORE & TIPPER GORE
They sign a placard from the 1992 Presidential campaign.
Poster signed: "Bill Clinton", "Al Gore, "& Tipper", 18¾x12. Red, white and blue "Clinton/Gore" campaign placard suggestive of an American flag. Small printed text in lower left corner: "Paid for by Clinton/Gore '92 Committee". The Governor of Arkansas, William Jefferson Clinton, effectively clinched the Democratic Party's presidential nomination after winning the New York primary in April. At the Party's convention in New York City that July, Clinton tapped Senator Albert Gore, Jr. of Tennessee as his running mate. In the November 3, 1992 election, Clinton and Gore defeated incumbent Republican President George Bush and Vice President Dan Quayle by 44.9 million to 39.1 million popular votes (Reform Party candidate H. Ross Perot had 19.7 million popular votes), 370-168 electoral votes and 31 states and Washington, D.C. In 1996, Clinton, the 42nd President, became the first Democrat since Franklin Roosevelt to be re-elected to the office. Gore, with his wife Mary Elizabeth Aitchison "Tipper" Gore at his side, received the Democratic presidential nomination in 2000. He won the popular vote that year, but lost narrowly in the Electoral College to Texas Governor George W. Bush after the Supreme Court halted further recounts of the disputed Florida vote. Slightly creased and soiled. Otherwise, fine condition.
