FOOTBALL HALL OF FAMERS
Football signed by six Hall of Famers.
Football signed: "Bob Lilly/#74", "Mel Blount/47", "Don Maynard/13", "Johnny Unitas/19", "Terry Bradshaw/12" and "Sonny/Jurgensen/#9". Wilson brown and white football signed on the white panel by six Hall of Famers. Each has added his uniform number. BOB LILLY, who played defensive tackle for the Dallas Cowboys, was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1980. Lilly, who had unusual speed, strength and recovery ability, played in five NFL/NFC title games, 11 Pro Bowls and two Super Bowls. MEL BLOUNT, who was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1989, was considered the prototype cornerback of his era. Blount, who was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 1980, played in four Super Bowls and five Pro Bowls and in 200 of 201 regular season games. His career stats include 57 interceptions, 736 yards and 13 opponents' fumble recoveries. Wide receiver DON MAYNARD, the first signee of the 1960 AFL Titans, caught a career-high 72 passes during his first season. Maynard, who played in three AFL All-Star games, later teamed with Joe Namath on the New York Jets to form a dynamic pass-catch duo. During his career, Maynard racked up 633 receptions for 11,834 yards, 88 touchdowns and 530 points. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1987. JOHNNY UNITAS (1933-2002), considered one of the game's greatest quarterbacks, led the Baltimore Colts to two consecutive NFL crowns (1958, 1959). Player of the Year three times and MVP three times in 10 Pro Bowls, Unitas threw at least one TD pass in 47 straight games. Inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1979, he had a career record of 2,830 passes for 40,239 yards and 290 touchdowns. Quarterback TERRY BRADSHAW, who was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1989, led the Pittsburgh Steelers to eight AFC Central titles and four Super Bowl victories. The AFC Player of the Year in 1978 and MVP in Super Bowls XIII and XIV, he had an excellent throwing arm and called his own plays. Bradshaw held Super Bowl records of nine touchdowns and 932 yards and post-season records of 30 TDs and 3,833 yards. SONNY JURGENSEN, who was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1983, began his career as a quarterback with the Philadelphia Eagles, was an exceptional passer and superb team leader. He won three NFL individual passing titles and surpassed 3,000 yards in five seasons. Despite numerous injuries, Jurgensen racked up 2,433 completions for 32,224 yards and 225 touchdowns during his career. Red ink mark at edge of white area, not near signatures. Fine condition.
