HATTIE McDANIEL. Photograph inscribed and signed: "Best Wishes/Always To/Miriam Hutchinson/From/Hattie McDaniel/9-3-46". Sepia, 8x10. McDaniel, a former radio vocalist, was the first Black actor to win an Academy Award (Best Supporting Actress in 1939 for her portrayal as "Mammy" in Gone With the Wind). Minor crease at lower right background. Lightly soiled at right background, edges slightly worn. Overall, fine condition.
