MAE MURRAY. Inscribed signature: "To Jim/Fondly/Mae Murray", 5x3 card. Beneath her signature, Murray has drawn a stick person, captioning it "Me!" at right. Newspaper photograph, b/w, 1x1, affixed at upper right corner. Typed name and birth and death dates at upper margin. Typed caption at lower left: "Silent film super star seen in flashy roles. Former dancer." Magazine biography affixed to upper left corner of verso. Ink notes (unknown hand): "October 13, 1952" and "On 58th St." Actress/dancer Mae Murray (1889-1965), born Marie Adrienne Koenig, was a dancer with the Ziegfeld Follies before she became a silent screen actress known as "The Girl with the Bee-Stung Lips". She is best remembered for The Merry Widow (1925), in which she starred opposite matinee idol John Gilbert. Slightly soiled. Mounting remnant at upper right margin of verso (no show through). Fine condition.
