Stevens (1918-2000), born Gail Shilkes, Jr., who appeared in a long list of
feature films in the 1940s and 1950s, is best known for playing the title
role in the TV private eye series, Peter Gunn (1958-1961). Stevens,
who also starred in Gunn, a 1967 film version of the series, later made a
cameo appearance in the made-for-TV movie, Peter Gunn, in 1989. His long
list of feature film credits include Mr. Smith Goes to Washington
(1939), Hollywood Canteen (1944), God is My Co-Pilot (1945),
Humoresque (1946), Blues Busters (1950) and Abbott and Costello
Meet Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Stevens also appeared in several TV series
and miniseries, including Dallas (1981) and Rich Man, Poor Man
(1976), was a guest on series ranging from The Lone Ranger (1950)
to Murder, She Wrote (1986). Lightly creased at upper blank corners. Fine
condition.
