ZORRO TV and MOVIE CASTS: BILL DANA, MICHAEL FOREST, JONATHAN HARRIS, DON DIAMOND, BRITT LOMOND, GEORGE HAMILTON, EFREM ZIMBALIST, JR., and LAUREN HUTTON; also GUY MADISON
Nine actors from the Zorro TV and movie cast sign the book The Legend of Zorro by Bill Yenne
.
Book signed: "Michael Forest/'Zorro'/'Horse of Another/Color'" and unidentified signer on 4x3 bookplates on inside cover; "Jonathan Harris/Don Carlo" on inside cover; "Guy Madison" on 5x3 card on first flyleaf; "Don Diamond/'Cpl. Reyes'" , "Britt Lomond/Monastario/Zorro/Z" on flyleaf front; "Lauren Hutton", "George/Hamilton" and "Efrem Zimbalist Jr." on separate 5x3 cards on flyleaf verso; and "Bill Dana/11-17-98" on 5x3 card on page 4, 160p, 9½x12½, hardcover. The Legend of Zorro by Bill Yenne, Mallard Press, Greenwich, Connecticut: 1991. Signatures of people associated with incarnations of Don Diego de la Vergo, who donned a mask and fought for justice as Zorro. Actor/comedian BILL DANA (born in 1924) was Bernardo in the 1983 TV series, Zorro & Son. MICHAEL FOREST (born Gerald Michael Charlebois in 1929) appeared in the Zorro TV series (1957-1959). JONATHAN HARRIS (1914-2002) played Don Carlos Fernandez on the Zorro TV series in 1959. DON DIAMOND (born in 1921) played Corporal Reyes in the 1957 film and in the TV series in 1958-1959. BRITT LOMOND, the real-life holder of numerous fencing titles, played Captain Monastario in the feature film, The Sign of Zorro (1958), and in the TV series from 1957-1958, when his villainous character was written out of the script, resulting in a flood of letters of protest. GEORGE HAMILTON (born in 1939) played Zorro and his long-lost brother, Bunny Wigglesworth, as well as Ramon Vega and Margarita Wigglesworth in the 1981 film, Zorro, the Gay Blade. EFREM ZIMBALIST, JR. (born in 1918) appeared as Don Alejandro de la Vega in the 1990 Zorro TV series. LAUREN HUTTON (born in 1943) played Charlotte Taylor Wilson in Zorro, the Gay Blade. GUY MADISON (1922-1996) had no association with Zorro. His Wild Bill Hickok (1951-1958) was a TV competitor of Zorro's in the Western adventure genre. The collector who assembled this collection most probably confused him with Guy Williams (1924-1989) who played the title role in Disney's original Zorro TV series (1957-1959). In original dust jacket, which is lightly soiled. Cards of Madison and Hutton are slightly soiled, Madison's slightly smudged at "G". Mounting adhesive shows slightly at edges of Zimbalist and Dana cards. Some pages slightly soiled. Overall, fine condition.
