SPIKE JONES - SIGNATURE(S) - DOCUMENT 280729

SPIKE JONES
Spike Jones signs an album leaf in black ink.
Signature: "Spike/Jones", 5½x4 album leaf. Spike Jones (1911-1965) and his band, The City Slickers, were capable musicians who specialized in parodying classical and popular tunes. They would often play the first half of a show straight, then reappear in strange costumes with weird instruments. It was said that you hadn't really arrived as a musical star until you had been skewered by Jones. Irregular left edge. Stray pencil notes (unknown hand) below signature. Otherwise, fine condition.
