RICHARD EGAN - DOCUMENT SIGNED 5/15/1959
RICHARD EGAN
Signed release form authorizing the Chicago Tribune - New York News Syndicate to use his name and image
Documentary Letter signed: "Richard Egan", 1 page, 8½x11. New York, N.Y., 1959 May 15. Egan authorizes the Chicago Tribune - New York News Syndicate and licensees to use his name and image for publicity and editorial purposes, not including commercial advertising. American actor Richard Egan (1921-1987) was a judo instructor for the U. S. Army during World War II, and so was seen often in adventure films from the 1950s to 1980s. He had a total of 70 film and TV shows on his resume between 1950 and 1987, with most of his starring roles coming in the mid-1950s and 1960s. Egan was also a capable dramatic actor, with notable appearances with Elvis Presley in his first film Love Me Tender (1956) and in Split Second (1953), A View from Pompey's Head (1955), Slaughter on 10th Avenue (1957), A Summer Place (1959), Pollyanna (1960) and opposite Joan Collins in Esther and the King (1960). He appeared frequently on TV in the 1960s and 1970s, most notably as Jim Redigo in Empire (1962-1963, renamed Redigo after his character in 1963). Egan spent most of his last decade in dinner theatre throughout the U. S. Lightly toned around edges. Corners creased and lightly worn. Otherwise, fine condition.
