GEORGE MURPHY
George Murphy endorses check 2019 from The Wolper Organization Inc. for $1000.
Check Endorsed: "George Murphy", 8½x3½. Los Angeles, California, 1974 March 28. Check No. 2019, drawn on the account of The Wolper Organization Inc. of the Union Bank, payable to George Murphy, Textron, Providence, Rhode Island, for $1,000.00. Dancer/actor Murphy (1902-1992) appeared in film musicals of the 1930s, moving to dramatic roles in the late 1940s. He followed a path similar to that of his friend Ronald Reagan: switching party allegiance from Democratic to Republican, serving as President of the Screen Actors Guild, and winning election to the U.S. Senate from California in 1964. "R. Ron Johnson" and "Irwin E. Russell" signed for the production company, The Wolper Organization. David L. Wolper, in connection with The Wolper Organization, has made over 700 films in his 50 years in show business which have won more than 150 awards, including 2 Oscars, 50 Emmys, 7 Golden Globes, 5 Peabodys, and recognition through retrospectives at the world's great film festivals. Usual bank stamps, not touching signatures. Otherwise, fine condition.
