JAMES R. GARFIELD - AUTOGRAPH LETTER SIGNED 06/10/1890 - DOCUMENT 26369

 
JAMES R. GARFIELD: Son of James A. Garfield. ALS: "James R. Garfield," 1p, 5¼x7¼. Cleveland, Ohio, 1890 June 10. To Mr. J.S. Bradley, Jr., New York. In full: "I enclose a draft for seven 30/100 dollars for the pictures which reached me safely and are very satisfactory." On stationery of the Garfield & Garfield law firm, founded with his older brother Harry. Garfield, 15 years old when his father was assassinated, served as Theodore Roosevelt's Secretary of the Interior, 1907-1909. Lightly soiled. Slightly creased. Paper clip stain at upper right. Erased notes (unknown hand) at blank lower right and upper margin. 2½-inch separation at horizontal fold touches "R. Garfield" of signature (all intact). ¾-inch separation at upper horizontal fold in blank area (all intact).
