5¾x7¾. Weston, Connecticut, 1981 January 29. To comedian and actress
Phyllis Diller. In full: "Morning - alone at breakfast ... sun shines
through the window ... squirrels & birds at the bird feeder ... everything
dazzling white and silver (from the snow & cold ...) ... (Bob in N.Y.
overnight) ... I'm reading the books you gave him. Thank you so
much! ... They are so helpful ... (The 'TRUTH' is like a 'key' - such a
small thing, & yet it 'unlocks' the 'treasure house'!) ... sweet Phyllis ...
you are a WONDERFUL person ... so filled with the 'exuberance' of
life ... 'giving out' so much love to so many ... wherever you go! (You
are truly doing God's work!) I send you my love on this frosty morning in
January ..." [She has drawn a heart and a bird perched on a limb.] Light
paperclip strain in upper left of first page. Otherwise, fine condition.
