Paramount Continental Cafe meal ticket for $1.30 signed by the actor
Meal ticket signed: "Joel Ashley" in lead pencil. Blue ink and lead pencil notations in unknown hand. 3½x5½, with perforated top edge. Date stamped "Jan 3 1955". Meal ticket for $1.30 at the Paramount Continental Cafe. According to the notations, on this meal ticket, Ashley was in the middle of shooting The Vagabond King (1956) when he signed this meal ticket. He normally appeared in westerns, but played the Duke of Normandy in The Vagabond King, a costume musical. American actor Ashley (1919-2000) appeared in over 40 movies and TV shows between 1950 and 1967, mostly in TV westerns. He had a recurring role as Private Boone in Boots and Saddles (1957-1958) and repeat appearances in Gunsmoke (1956-1960). Lightly toned and creased. Missing top corners. Staple holes near top edge. Otherwise in fine condition.
