Photograph signed: "John S. Herrington", in black felt tip, B/w 8x10. John S. Herrington (b. 1939) is an American politician and former Secretary of Energy under Ronald Reagan. Previously a private practicing attorney, Herrington first served in the Reagan administration as Assistant Secretary of the Navy (Manpower and Reserve Affairs (1981-1983), before becoming Deputy Assistant for Presidential Personnel (1983-1985), and finally Secretary of Energy. He served in the position for four years, leaving at the same time as Reagan. After his years in government service, Herrington became the chairman of publishing firm Harcourt, Brace, Jovanovich, and continues to serve in local political functions in California. Creased on top margin. Ink stamp on verso. Fine condition.
