MICHAEL S. BROWN
The Nobel Prize winner (Physiology or Medicine, 1985) signs a First Day Cover honoring Emily Bissell.
First Day Cover signed: "Michael Brown", 6½x3½. FDC honoring Emily Bissell, crusader against tuberculosis, postmarked Wilmington, Delaware, May 31, 1980, 15-cent stamp affixed, FIRST DAY OF ISSUE. Brown (b. 1941) of the Southwestern Medical Center of the University of Texas, was co-recipient with colleague Joseph Goldstein of the 1985 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine "for their discoveries concerning the regulation of cholesterol metabolism." This groundbreaking researching led to the development of lifesaving, cholesterol-lowering drugs. Fine condition.
