MUHAMMAD ALI and JAMES STEWART
Both sign a 25x30 reproduction of the Bill of Rights
Poster signed: "Muhammad/ Ali/ 89" and "'It's a Wonderful Life in America'/James Stewart", 25x30 overall, image 23¾x27¼ (one surface). Reproduction of the original Bill of Rights. On February 25, 1964, MUHAMMAD ALI (1942-2016) as Cassius Clay, knocked out champion Sonny Liston in the seventh round in Miami Beach to win the World Heavyweight title. He was stripped of his title in 1967 for refusing military service. On October 30, 1974, Ali KO'd George Foreman in the eighth round in Zaire to regain the title. Leon Spinks became champ when he won a 15-round decision over Ali on February 15, 1978 in Las Vegas but lost a rematch with Ali in New Orleans in another 15-round decision on September 15, 1978. Ali retired as World Heavyweight Champion in 1979. He is the only three-time World Heavyweight Champion. JAMES STEWART (1908-1997) starred in more recognized masterpieces of the American cinema than any other actor. In 1940, he won the Best Actor Academy Award for The Philadelphia Story, and he was nominated for Oscars in the same category for Mr. Smith Goes to Washington (1939), It's A Wonderful Life (1946), Harvey (1950) and Anatomy of a Murder (1959). Stewart, who was awarded an Honorary Academy Award in 1984, also appeared in You Can't Take It With You, Destry Rides Again, Rear Window, Vertigo, The Spirit of St. Louis, The Greatest Show on Earth and a long list of other features. Lightly creased. 1-inch tear at upper margin. Defects from original document have been reproduced. Otherwise, fine condition.
