NELSON W. ALDRICH
He signs "Yours truly" on his Senate Card
Autograph Sentiment signed: "Apr 25/Yours truly/Nelson W. Aldrich", 1p, 5¼x2½. Senate Chamber, Washington, (no year) April 25. Nelson W. Aldrich (1841-1915) was Republican Congressman (1879-1881) and Senator (1881-1911) from Rhode Island. He was the chief sponsor of the National Reserve Association, which eventually became the Federal Reserve System. His daughter Abby married John D. Rockefeller, Jr. The son they named after him, Nelson Aldrich Rockefeller, served as Ford's Vice President from 1974-1977. Mounting remnants on verso show through at blank left, right and upper margins. Otherwise, fine condition.
