NICK "THE REBEL" ADAMS - AUTOGRAPH LETTER DOUBLE SIGNED - HFSID 255093

NICK ADAMS
Nick Adams sends an autograph letter while possibly on location for Godzilla Versus Monster Zero discussing the film.
Autograph Letter signed: "Nick", on verso of 5½x4 color postcard depicting the Tokyo Hilton. Tokyo, Japan, date illegible. Addressed by Adams to Dale Olson, Daily Variety, Hollywood, California. In full: "Well I'm the world traveler. But one has to go where the work is. This film is really going to be great. They have the greatest tlents in Japan working on it. If you need anything drop me a line. The address is above - Your pal,". Adams has written: "Nick Adams - Air Mail" at upper margin. The actor was probably on location for Godzilla Versus Monster Zero (1965). Best remembered as Johnny Yuma in the TV series The Rebel (1959-1961), Adams (1932-1968) starred in another series, Saints and Sinners (1962-1963). His movie credits include Rebel Without a Cause (1955), No Time for Sergeants (1956) and Pillow Talk (1959). Adams was nominated for an Oscar as Best Supporting Actor for Twilight of Honor (1963). One of several young stars from Rebel Without a Cause to die young (James Dean, Sal Mineo, Natalie Wood), he died in 1968 from what may have been an accidental overdose of prescription drugs, a suicide or a murder. Lightly worn at corners. Photo scuffed at upper background. Fine condition.
