ORVILLE L. FREEMAN. Photograph signed: "Orville L Freeman". B/w, 8x10 overall, image 6x7½ (one surface). Orville Lathrop Freeman (1918-2003) served as Governor of Minnesota (1955-1961), and he was Secretary of Agriculture under Presidents Kennedy and Johnson (1961-1969). Best known for initiating the Food Stamp Program, Freeman had been an attorney and he was a veteran of WWII. Freeman's son, Mike, was a candidate for Governor of Minnesota in 1998. Lightly creased at blank margins and corners. Minor surface crease touches hair, light nick on suit. Ink note (unknown hand) on verso (no show through). Overall, fine condition.
