PRESIDENT HERBERT HOOVER - DOCUMENT SIGNED CO-SIGNED BY: HENRY CABOT LODGE JR., GENERAL DOUGLAS MACARTHUR - DOCUMENT 57189

HERBERT HOOVER, DOUGLAS MacARTHUR and HENRY CABOT LODGE, JR.
Masonic Lodge membership card from 1958, signed by all three
Membership card, 2p, 3½x2¼, 1958. Certifying that "Brother Armand Kechejian is a Member in good standing of Normal Lodge No. 523, Free & Accepted Masons, New York 10, N.Y." Signed by Kechejian. Signed on verso by three Republicans: "Herbert Hoover," "Henry Cabot Lodge," and "Douglas MacArthur 33°." The 33° is the last degree to be attained. Hoover was U.S. President from 1929-1933. MacArthur, nominated for President at the 1948 and 1952 Republican National Conventions, was Five-Star General of the Army. Lodge was the unsuccessful Republican candidate for Vice President in 1960. General MacArthur was a Mason himself as his listing of his high degree attests, but President Hoover was not. Lodge's relationship, if any, to the organization is unknown. Fine condition.
