The Secretary of Agriculture is shown posing for the camera, dated 1979 inscribed to tv/radio host George Sanders
Inscribed Photograph Signed: "to George Sanders/with thanks/Bob Bergland Sec USDA 2-6-79". Color, 8x10. Farmer Bob Bergland (b. 1928) represented Minnesota in Congress from 1971-1977 when he resigned just nine days before writing this letter to become Carter's only Secretary of Agriculture (1977-1981). After his run as Secretary of Agriculture he became the chairman of Farmland World Trade and continued on to become the Vice President of the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association. George R. Sanders, originally a disc jockey, became a prominent radio/TV interview host, first in Los Angeles and later in Portland. Fine condition.
