Ink signature under a typed sentiment clipped from a letter
Typed Sentiment signed: "Sincerely yours,/Robert L. Bacon", 3½x1¼, cut from typed letter. Robert Low Bacon (1884-1938) was pursuing a banking career in New York before earning a Distinguished Service Medal in France during World War I. He remained active in the army reserve thereafter, rising to the rank of colonel. A Republican, he represented a New York district in the US House of Representatives from 1923 until his death. His father, Robert Bacon, a veteran diplomat, was Secretary of State in the final months of Theodore Roosevelt's Presidency. Pencil notes (unknown hand) on verso (no show-through). Fine condition.
