Coase signed this letter to Don Dee, typed on letterhead from the University of Chicago law school, in 1993. In it, he informs Dee that "I am enclosing some papers which may answer your inquiry".
Typed letter signed "Ronald Coase". 1 page, 8 ½ x 10 ¾, on letterhead from the law school at the University of Chicago with University of Chicago watermark. March 25, 1993. Addressed to Don Dee, Albuquerque, New Mexico. In full: "Dear Mr. Dee: I am enclosing some papers [not included] which may answer your query. Yours sincerely, Ronald H. Coase RHC:lms encs.". Coase (1910-2013), born in Willesden, Middlesex, England in 1910, is an American economist who is best known for two papers. The first, The Nature of the Firm, was published in 1937 while the second, The Problem of Social Cost, was not published until 1960. In these papers, Coase introduced the concept of transaction costs into economics and founded the modern theory of the firm, the law and economics movement and the new institutional economics. He received the Nobel Prize in Economics in 1991 for his work. Lightly toned and creased. Folded once and unfolded. Otherwise in fine condition.
