Youthful photo, shown wearing a plaid tam

Photograph signed: "Best Wishes/Rufe Davis". B/w, 8x10. Rufe Davis (1908-1974) is perhaps best known to television viewers as railroad engineer Floyd Smoot on the TV series Petticoat Junction (1963-1968, 1970) and Green Acres (1965-1967). Moviegoers will remember him as Lullaby Joslin in the Three Musquiteers Westerns he did for Republic Pictures. Davis also appeared on TV's The Lone Ranger and in numerous feature films, including Some Like It Hot (1939) and Angel in My Pocket (1969) in addition to his Westerns. Davis had a talent for making funny noises, and used it in many of his films. Lightly toned and waffled at edges. Otherwise, fine condition. Previously authenticated by JSA.
