STEPHEN BECHTEL. TLS: "SD Bechtel" as Senior Director of
Bechtel Corporation, 1p, 5½x8½. San Francisco, California, 1968 August
1. On letterhead of Bechtel Corporation to Mr. Eugene Miller, New York, N.Y.
In full: "Your book on investment techniques certainly promises to be
an interesting volume. As far as offering suggestions, however, I really have
no particular techniques or philosophies to give you and thus regret that I
cannot be of assistance. Sincerely yours". Stephen Davison Bechtel
(1900-1989) was the son of Warren A. Bechtel, the founder of the Bechtel
Corporation. After serving in WWI, Stephen became Vice President in
1925, and he became President of the company (1933-1960) upon his
father's death. At that time, Bechtel was working on its largest project -
Hoover Dam. Bechtel turned the presidency over to his son, Stephen, Jr., in
1960, but he remained as Chairman until 1969. Lightly creased with fold,
not at signature. Fine condition.
