SUSAN LEHMAN - AUTOGRAPH LETTER SIGNED 12/07/1970 - DOCUMENT 316767

SUSAN LEHMAN
The actress pens a short letter to John Willis, Editor of Theatre World, thanking him for the opportunity to appear in his publication
Autograph letter signed: "Susan Lehman", in blue ink, 6x9. December 7, 1970. In full: "Dear Mr. Willis, Hi! Please forgive the delay on this but was waiting for a current photograph [item not included]. Thank you for the opportunity to be in Theatre World. Sincerely". Susan Lehman (b. 1940) made her Broadway debut in I Can Get It For You Wholesale (1962), though it is unsure what role she played. She subsequently appeared in The Prisoner of Second Avenue (1971), with her next major appearance being in film almost 40 years later with Knock Knock (2008). John A. Willis (1916-2010), active in Theatre World from the beginning, became its chief editor in 1965, holding that position until 2008. Willis is regarded as one of the foremost theatre and film historians of the 20th century. While producing (and presenting) the annual Theatre World Awards, Willis also served on the nominating committee for the Tony Awards. Theatre World, which received its own Tony for Excellence in Theatre in 2001, continues under chief editor Ben Hodges. Light surface creases. Fine condition.
