LOUISA M. ALCOTT and BRONSON ALCOTT. Comprises: (1) LOUISA M. ALCOTT. Signature: "L.M. Alcott", 5x2¾. Lightly soiled and shaded, touching signature. Chipped at lower left blank margin. Nicked at upper blank margin. Overall, fine condition. (2) BRONSON ALCOTT. Printed Admission Card signed: "A. Bronson Alcott" as Dean of the Faculty, 5¼x3. Concord, Mass., 1879 July 1. In full: "Concord School of Philosophy/Complimentary./Admit the Bearer to Any Session of the Concord/Summer School." Louisa May Alcott's autobiographical novels include Little Women (1868-1869), Little Men (1871), Eight Cousins (1874) and Jo's Boys (1886). Her father, Amos Bronson Alcott, was a transcendentalist philosopher, teacher and writer. This card was issued as he began what became the Concord Summer School of Philosophy which continued until his death in 1888. Two items.
