VAL L. FITCH - SIGNATURE(S) 11/08 - HFSID 279797

The Nobel Prize-winner in Physics (1980) signs on this card, dated November 8th
Signature: "Val L. Fitch/Princeton Nov 08", 5x3 index card. Val Logsdon Fitch (1923-2015), of Princeton University, shared the 1980 Nobel Prize in Physics with James Cronin (born 1931) "for the discovery of violations of fundamental symmetry principles in the decay of neutral K-mesons." Fitch, who became Chairman of the Physics Department at Princeton in 1976, worked on the Manhattan Project for three years during WWII as a soldier with the U.S. Army. He later worked at Brookhaven Cosmotron, where he met Cronin, and the two worked together at Princeton from the 1950s until 1971. Pencil name (unknown hand) at upper left. Fine condition.
