WASSILY LEONTIEF. Typed Letter signed: "Wassily Leontief", 1p, 5½x8½. On his letterhead as Professor of Economics, Harvard University. Cambridge, Massachusetts, 1973 November 28. To Monroe Mendoza, Forest Hills, New York. In full: "I have received your kind congratulatory letter and would like to thank you for your good wishes. I enclose the photograph you requested and have signed the card." [neither photo nor card included] Russian-born and educated economist Leontief (1906-1990) immigrated to the U.S. in 1929. He joined the faculty of Harvard University two years later. Leontief's Nobel Prize in economics (1973) cited him for his creation of the input-output technique. By this method, the variations in the flow of goods from one industry to another can be graphically demonstrated. Economists use his method to analyze, plan, and predict economic changes. Fine condition.
