A CRY IN THE DARK MOVIE CAST: MERYL STREEP and SAM NEILL The two award-winning actors signed this black and white photograph from their film Printed Photograph Signed in Ink: "Meryl Streep", "Sam Neill". B/w, 10x8. Captioned movie still from A Cry in the Dark (1988). Actress Meryl Streep (b. 1949) made her screen, Broadway, and Off-Broadway debuts in the mid-1970s and has earned dozens of major award nominations since then across all three industries. While she has predominantly performed on the big screen, she received a Primetime Emmy Award for her work in the 1978 mini-series Holocaust. On stage, Streep more often performs Off-Broadway than on Broadway. She received an Obie Award in 1981 for Alice in Concert (1980-1981). Streep's Broadway work includes A Memory of Two Mondays / 27 Wagons Full of Cotton (1976). Her first major film role came in Michael Cimino's breakthrough directorial effort The Deer Hunter (1978), which starred Robert De Niro and Christopher Walken. She received her first Golden Globe nomination and her first Academy Award nomination for her performance; since then, she has received many more. Her Oscar Award wins include Best Actress for Sophie's Choice (1982) and The Iron Lady (2011), while her Golden Globe wins include Best Performance in Julie & Julia (2009) and Best Actress in The French Lieutenant's Woman (1981). Other notable film roles include Out of Africa (1985), The Hours (2002), and The Devil Wears Prada (2006). In 1998, she was honored with a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Sam Neill (b. 1947) was born in Northern Ireland and maintains Ireland, Britain, and New Zealand nationality. He made his screen debut in 1975 in the film Landfall. Eight years later, he starred in the television mini-series Reilly: Ace of Spies as Sidney Reilly. For this performance, he was nominated for a Golden Globe Award. His television work includes recurring appearances in Amerika (1987), Merlin (1998), The Tudors (2007), and Peaky Blinders (from 2013-2014). While maintaining a busy career on the small screen, he gained an enormous amount of popularity on both sides of the Atlantic for his role in Jurassic Park (1993). Neill's character Dr. Alan Grant remains the central protagonist for the initial trilogy, starring in the first and third film. The second film, The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997), endured some criticism because his character was nowhere to be found. Neill has been nominated for multiple Golden Globes over the course of his career. Fine condition.
