A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM
Signed by cast members and guests at the first Broadway revival of the popular musical comedy
Show Bill signed: "John/Hansen", "Keita", "Lauren Lucas", "Trudy/Carson", "Kerry McGrath" and 2 unidentified signers. In all 7 signatures. 32 pages, 5½x9. An Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, was a smash Broadway hit in 1964, followed by a movie version and numberless regional theater productions. In 1972, the first Broadway revival of the play ran for 156 performances at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre, as shown here. Phil Silvers replaced Zero Mostel in the starring role of Pseudolus. This program has been signed by three or more of the members of the 1972 cast: JOHN HANSEN, in the role of Hero, a love struck young Roman. KEITA KEITA and LAUREN LUCAS played courtesans Vibrata and Tintinabula. Two other signers here were not in the cast of A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, but were Broadway actresses: TRUDY CARSON was appearing in Follies at the Winter Garden Theater. KERRY McGRATH would soon appear in Lorelei at the Palace Theatre. Fine condition.
